Upheavel

Right now we are in the midst of major change as we move into our new place. It is a great blessing to have a new place to live and even though we aren't 100 % moved in, I'm already at peace and hubs and I are already happier. We dread going back to the other apt to move our stuff, but we are slowly getting there. We do have all our clothes in one place and put away. Hubs spent his Friday waiting for the cable guy and doing a ton of laundry! Score for me and thanks to my adoring husband who did it for me. It was a huge help for the weekend.

Friday night we spent moving the kitchen and the food. Our kitchen is 75% here and I ran all of the dishes and pots and pans through the new dishwasher to be put away. Tomorrow I need to get the odds and ends of our spices, tupperware, and my small appliances like my crockpot! I can't wait to make some new recipes this week! The bathroom has been moved and I'll bring those odds and ends with me too, now everything will be put away in its place and the new house is taking shape.

So far I've learned a few things about my apt that make me so happy let me share (this was my fb today): a couple of things i notice about the new apt: 1) my dishwasher works and actually cleans dishes 2) my refrigerator doesn't freeze everything I put in it 3) my freezer keeps things meant to be frozen - you know frozen and finally 4)my husband doesn't have to have the apt on "you have to wear flannels and parka cold" aka 55 degrees or lower....these revelations are allowing me to awake with a new appreciation for living!

This week we'll both work at getting all the totes and boxes (that are already packed - we didn't unpack them 6 months ago) into one place in the living room, take the things off the walls, and clean. We are needing to do the logistics on renting uhaul and to obtain some young, buff men to help move the boxes in one move. Then we'll be all here.

I'm so excited because I'll finally be able to unpack. I'll be able to have my books out, decorate my new fire place, and make this feel like home. I wish I could of done more tonight, but my anxiety got the better of me this afternoon so I'm on strict orders to be calm and take my meds. Stupid medicine changes - boo.

Even though my anxiety is a little out of whack, I did get my exercise in. I managed to burn 469 calories! Yep 469. I put my sunscreen on and got into the pool. I've been doing a lot of reading and learning how to put together my own workouts. Here is what I did today: I swam 10 laps doing the breast stroke and 10 laps swimming backstroke. I worked my abs by doing leg pull ups, pulling my knees to my chest, and leg lifts that concentrated on my lower abs and my obliques. I also worked my arms doing bicep curls, tricep curls, and working my my "wings". I also worked out a great routine to be able to water jog. I really love water jogging and was able to do 15 minutes in the deep end working my arms and legs, pumping my arms, getting my heart rate up, and really feeling my muscles working hard. It was a great work out and I learned from my last work out to take tylenol when I came home. I don't want to be woken up with massive ab pain from working those muscles.

I don't think I'll be doing the massive ab work, leg work, and arm work each day, but I definitely can handle the water jogging to burn some cardio. I started at 15 min and want to work my way up to 30. I have to remember that when I'm in the water I am doing double the work and I have to keep my heart rate at the right point, but I get into this zone where I feel like I'm enjoying it and don't realize how much I've worked out till I'm in the shower ready to collapse afterwards. Work does the body good!

I need to also add in some walking to the plan. I need to find the time each day to walk 30 min. This is really important to me and I'm really motivated as I'm seeing results. Maybe it was only 7 lbs, but I want to be under 180 by my birthday which is August 20th. I haven't been under 180 since I was 13 and it would be awesome to reach that goal on my 31st birthday!!!! How could would it be! So that Is my goal. 2 lbs get ready to be gone - obliterated.

I'm eating well and still logging. I love my lose it app and I love that adding exercise helps me burn calories. I never really saw the correlation before so seeing my work on both ends has been motivating. I have not drank enough today and I'm feeling it especially since I had been drinking well over 64 oz each day this week + being in the sun has not been so great...learned my lesson since my body doesn't regulate the heat the same anymore and drinking is so important to the WLS anyway...duh Melissa duh!
