Today I'm 193 lbs. Since coming off the Nuva Ring that makes 9lbs in just about a month that I've been able to shed. I'm not under 100 lbs lost since surgery again and loving it! I got on the scale this past week and didn't believe it so as I was signing up for a gym membership at school for the summer I weighed in on the "big scale" and yep 193 it is. So YAY for 101 lbs lost again from my surgery date and many many inches later I'm on the right side of the losing bench again.
I'm happy to report that all of the doctor's involved and I'm overly convinced that the hormones really was the cause of all this. Of course will we ever know 100 %? Nope. It doesn't matter to me if they don't know why all I know is that I'm losing and not trying. So here is to trying *raise my glass of mio to the air* and on we go. If not trying gets me 9 lbs down a little effort and working out with some side of burning calories - lets move this fat! Yes...I just said that. MOVE THIS FAT!

196
196 lbs is what I weighed in today and I couldn't be happier. Last week I hit 200 lbs and nearly fell off the scale, but since the removal of the Nuva Ring and keeping the running and eating going I have managed to get back on the losing train!
I met my endocronologist today and I was so glad to have him in my life. He is going to be an amazing assest to my health. Yes, I still odd and the factor of the Nuva Ring perplexes him as well, but like he said today I may not be able to explain it scientifically but you are proving the theory that it has impacted you. He is off to do some more research on how the hormones in the Nuva Ring can impact me and my pancreas.
Today's appointment has really left me hopeful. I am hopeful to have some type of plan of action with this weird affliction. I'm thankful to have a doctor that is willing to research and look at things before changing any variables. I am very hopeful that in the next month or so that I will find out what is going on both on the blood sugar side and the PCOS side.
I was worried about where do we go now with PCOS questions. He was really easy to talk to and today when he took blood we did a complete baseline bloodwork on my A1C, ensymes in my liver and pancreas, some other basic blood work and checked in on the FSH and TSH - that is the testosterone and female hormone estrogen levels. He also stated that based on what he saw and after another few weeks with keeping with my same program that he is going to look into doing a liquid meal test - the equivilant of a glucose test for diabetics with RNY. So in this test I would take a glucerna shake (low carb low sugar) and then he would measure my blood as my body processed it.
I have to do a few things on my end like get records from the hospital when they looked at my pancreas and follow up on some paperwork on old bloodwork - but those I can handle. Easy phone calls and request. He just wants to make sure we have covered all the bases as there are some rare issues with the pancreas where there could be a tumor that isn't visible causing issues in the more extreme cases. There is also hope that I won't need medications of any type and that is both our goal. Like he said today that the aim is to be as healthy as possible with as little medicine as possible. That I'll take to the bank, because I'm never going to to put hormones in it again!

Endocronologist, PCOS, WLS Oh My!
When I was morbidly obese and was finally diagnosed with PCOS after years of misdiagnosis and doctors just not knowing what to look for in a 12-15 year old girl, at 24 I was diagonosed with PCOS. This was a huge revelation for me that I finally had answers why I was gaining weight even with exercise, dieting, etc. It was a relief to have an answer about what my body was doing. It was awesome to know that most of the co-morbidities I was suffering was due to obesity + PCOS.
I was 24 years old and in 2004 after massive anxiety attacks, insomnia, massive weight gain, and unaswered questions about my sugar I was finally sent to an endocronologist and voila after months of testing I had PCOS. It explained everything and for years afterwards I continued to gain. I became pre-diabetic then diabetic and then I got fet up. I wanted a life a real life. I wanted my life to reflect who I was so I started my WLS journey.
Here we are today. I still have PCOS and I'm post RNY. My symptoms are not the ones from 2004 they are different. Before the Nuva Ring incident I was considered almost cured since I had cycles on my own, the hirituism lessened, and my weight was coming off but now that hormones that I put in my body has shaken me...I start over. I go to the endocronologist on Monday.
What do I ask now? Are there different questions to be asked now that my guts are rearranged? Are their new insights or things I need to look out for? What are my levels - TSH and FSH? I don't have cysts, but are other symptoms coming back. How do we battle them NOW? How can I battle them?
I know for me hormones aren't an answer - so what is?

"You've lost weight!"
I admit it I don't own a scale. I don't weigh. So I don't know if I've lost any major amounts of weight unless I'm at a doctor visit. I have noticed over the last week that I'm feeling better but have stayed away from the mentality about losing weight.
Today I was hanging out with co-workers and both of the that see me all the time noticed that there is a difference. They both said that I've looked like I've lost weight. That was super encouraging to hear because I don't often see it. Sometimes I feel it in my clothes, sometimes I might feel lighter - but after all of the ups and downs of the past 9 months I'm too scared to get my hopes up about a lb or two or three - I'm focused on the feeling, the doing, the NSV's that I am able to do everyday.
I did some amazing lifting on my own over the last few days of water jugs, botttles of water, oving large items and tubs around in the heat. 28 months ago - that wouldn't of been a thought. I would of laughed at the idea and asked my husband to do it - so I take those as moments of good things.
I ran not once, not twice, but now up to 5 times jogging/walking a mile. It is getting easier each day and each time I do it. Walking will happen - it isn't about the time of the race, it is about the finish for me. To cross that line...I want to be someone who does it! I'm going to make it happen with my husband by myside!
I thought this was cool so I would share it today with you all:
