Fruit or Cake?

Today has been a food win for me. I don't say that very often because I don't want to set myself up for failure and then be let down, but looking at dinner to go and having that planned out I feel empowered today that I won!

I'm away at a conference so I was concerned about getting healthy protein rich food. So this morning when I woke up I started today off with a shake. This was a new shake for me and I was excited because I love coffee and I need my shake hence the Mocha Latte Shake from Atkins. It has to be cold, but I loved it. I had a little before breakfast and then sipped on it over ice through the first session of the day. Breakfast this morning was 2 sausage links, about a tbsp of eggs with cheese, and 3 bites of low carb yogurt. I just have not been hungry lately so this was the best I could do this morning, but I knew I had my protein packed snacks and I was going to be okay throughout the day.

Snack time came and I was surprised to see a yummy and delicious snack that 1) I could have and 2) the was protein packed. I love Oikos Greek Yogurt but I usually only eat the key lime version. I'm a little picky that way, but I knew I had to have a snack and that I didn't have time to run to my room so I tried it. This was so amazing. It was smooth. It was creamy. It had great flavor and the same consistency of the key lime I like so much. I hadn't seen this flavor before, but I will be on the look out. It was good. Yep - go try it!

Lunch came and I made some good low carb choices. I had some tomato basil roasted pepper soup, two roast beef roll ups with roast beast and a slice of cheddar cheese, and then for dessert I had mixed fruit. I looked at the cake and yummy cobbler, but I knew I hadn't done all that work to not be able to stay on this RH plan. So I chose the fruit and I am so excited! Silly...maybe but I needed that boost of confidence.

My snack for the afternoon was cup of coffee and I had smidge of my snicker's marathon bar that was heaven. The chocolate peanut butter and the coffee was great today. It satisfied my craving and I felt good too. Now I'm sitting here blogging, checking email, planning a relaxing night in the hotel sipping away. I might head up to the gym or maybe even order something yummy to eat for dinner I'm thinking a chicken ceasar salad sounds so yummy - hope it is on the menu upstairs tonight!
